Hi there. We know there’s a lot you want to ask. While we’re in the process of setting up our FAQ section, we thought we’d deal with a few of the more common and pressing inquiries we’ve received.
1. So, is Kazantip coming back to Georgia?
No, Kazantip won’t be returning to Georgia. As far as we are aware, Kazantip won’t be returning anywhere – the brand no longer exists. But we have heard that there’ll be some kind of new music festival in Crimea this summer, at the site where Kazantip used to be held. And a brand new music festival is coming to Anaklia – this year the resort will play host to GEM Fest (Georgian Electronic Music Festival). Good locations, as they say, don’t lie empty for long.
2. So how exactly does GEM Fest differ from Kazantip?
The main difference between us and the Kazantip Republic is this: we are a festival. A straight-up festival of all things unusual and interesting from the creative world which surrounds us, everything from dance music, to stage shows, to multimedia technologies to contemporary art. We believe that if you bring together 100 or so of the brightest stars from such a wide range of genres in one location over the course of just 9 days, that’s all you need for an utterly spectacular celebration, where the nights pulsate and dazzle like the midday sun. :)
3. So GEM Fest isn’t Kazantip?
We’re nothing like Kazantip.
